Provide official institutional email IDs (preferably with a .edu or university domain). Personal email IDs such as Gmail or Google Workspace addresses are often considered less reliable and may delay verification.

When submitting hard copy documents, include DigiLocker-fetched and printed certificates along with other required documents for smoother verification.

Under normal circumstances, the APS verification process takes around 20 working days.

In most cases, APS is mandatory, especially for applications to public universities. For Uni-Assist applications, APS is compulsory and submissions without APS are not forwarded to the university.

• A few universities (such as RWTH Aachen) and select public or private institutions may allow initial applications without APS and issue a conditional offer, with APS to be submitted later.
• Certain private universities that award non-German or foreign degrees may not require APS even at the visa stage (for example, Berlin School of Innovation, EU Business School, and Arden University).

Some universities clearly state that they do not accept 3-year degrees for certain programs. For example, the University of Bayreuth does not accept 3-year bachelor’s degrees for specific courses such as Food Science, as stated on its official website.

At the same time, students with 3-year degrees are enrolled at the same university in other programs such as Battery Materials and Technology.
