This programme is offered entirely in English. The prerequisite for admission to this programme is a minimum proficiency in English at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Level B2 can be proven by any one of the following: the acquisition of the university entrance qualification at an English-speaking institution a university degree in an English-language degree programme a First Certificate in English (University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations) or higher level (Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE)) IELTS (International English Language Testing System), with a minimum score of 5.5 TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), 72 (internet-based test, ITB), 47 (revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test, PdT) Telc English B2 OTE (Oxford Test of English): average 111 out of 140 PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic: 59-75 points. Submission of a German university entrance qualification ("Abiturzeugnis"), which shows the applicant completed five years (four years in the G8 programme) of English in school with a grade of at least “adequate” (4), or 5 points, is also counted as proof of sufficient English language skills.

Academic Admission
Academic admission requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science from a university in Germany or abroad that is not significantly different from the JGU. Evidence of practical laboratory exercises amounting to at least 18 credit points (CP), with a portion of it completed using chemical working techniques Evidence of achievements in molecular sciences amounting to at least 3 CP Evidence of achievements in thermodynamics amounting to at least 3 CP Achievements that were not completed during the Bachelor’s degree may also be taken into account. The examination board will decide on this.
APS Certificate
An APS certificate is required for applicants who have completed their qualifying education in India, China, or Vietnam.
