Very good proficiency in the English language corresponding to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), as confirmed by one of the following: Cambridge Certificate: FCE, CAE or CPE International English Language Testing Service (IELTS), with a result of at least 6.0 points and no partial examination worse than 5.0 points Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), with a result of at least 72 points and at least the following points in the individual areas: reading (18), listening (17), speaking (20), writing (17) Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) with at least the following points in the individual areas: listening (400), reading (385) The German University Entrance Qualification Certificate (Abiturzeugnis), with the English course having been attended by the applicant for at least five years before graduation and university entrance qualification and the final or average grade of the last two years of the language class corresponding at least to the German grade 4 (sufficient) or at least 5 points In individual cases, other forms of evidence may be permitted upon the applicant’s request. Other forms of evidence include the following in particular: a certificate of completion of a studies programme in the English language a university entrance qualification of institutions with English as teaching language a Bachelor’s thesis written in the English language completion of the Bachelor’s programme of Meteorology at KIT The corresponding decision is made by the admission committee.

Academic Admission
A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Meteorology and Climate Physics or a related discipline with adequate content in physics, mathematics and atmospheric science from a university or a university of applied sciences in Germany or a university abroad is needed. The programme must have been completed within a standard period of study of at least three years with a minimum of 180 ECTS credits. The admission requirements may also be fulfilled by a Bachelor's degree in other subjects, such as Physics, Mathematics, Geosciences, Oceanography or another natural science, and knowledge in relevant subjects conveyed by a Bachelor’s programme (e.g. as a subsidiary or supplementary subject) resulting in minimum achievements in the following areas: Meteorology and Climate Physics in the amount of least 24 ECTS credits Physics in the amount of at least 24 ECTS credits Mathematics in the amount of at least 12 ECTS credits If the requirements are not fulfilled completely, a conditional admission may be possible (decided by the admission committee).
APS Certificate
An APS certificate is required for applicants who have completed their qualifying education in India, China, or Vietnam.
