Academic Admission

Applicants should have completed a qualifying degree (e.g. Bachelor's degree) from a European or foreign college or university in the fields of (Molecular) Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Medical Biology, Biology, Human Biology or in a related life sciences field. The degree must have been completed with the German grade 2.3 (In the German grading system, 1 ["sehr gut"] is the best, and 4 is considered sufficient to pass.) Applicants who have not yet completed their Bachelor's degrees must prove a current grade of 2.0. Prerequisite courses include: Immunology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Anatomy or Physiology with a total of at least 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credit points) as well as Chemistry, Genetics, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Microbiology with a total of at least 30 ECTS. In addition, the final thesis written as part of the first higher education degree must be a paper based on a practical experiment; students in a degree programme whose curriculum does not include a thesis are required to provide proof of practical experience working in a laboratory worth at least 15 ECTS. Research experience in the laboratory (wet lab) of at least 15 ECTS is essential. APS Certificate

An APS certificate is required for applicants who have completed their qualifying education in India, China, or Vietnam.
