The following certificates will be accepted: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-based test (IBT) with a result of at least 90 points or IELTS Test (general or academic) with a result of at least 5.5 or Cambridge Test – Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or First Certificate in English (FCE) with a final grade of minimum B DAAD language certificate of the HHU Language Center with a B2 level German language proficiency is not required!

Academic Admission

If your Bachelor's degree meets the following criteria, you are qualified for the Master's Economics programme: Bachelor's degree with a focus on economic science, social science, or mathematical analysis with at least 180 ECTS upon the completion of the degree course Knowledge of mathematics and statistics (minimum 24 ECTS) Knowledge of subjects related to economics (minimum 24 ECTS) A final grade of at least 2.5 (German grading system) You must have completed 75% of your undergraduate degree at the time of application. In addition, our criteria (ECTS maths/statistics, etc.) must already be fully met. This information must be evident from a certified edition of your transcript. Additionally, our language requirements have to be met (see below for details). In addition to the overall grade of the Bachelor's examination, the result of a mandatory subject-specific aptitude test will be taken into account in the admission procedure.
