All applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency at a level corresponding to at least B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Proof can be provided, for example, through: School certificates showing that English was studied for at least five years up to the university entrance qualification, with a final or average grade in the last two years of at least “sufficient” (grade 4 or 5 points) in the German grading system, or English as a native language , or a successfully completed English-language university degree , or an internationally recognised certificate at B2 level or higher (CEFR) , e.g., an appropriate Cambridge ESOL qualification (see PO MA CS for the Cambridge ESOL table), or a TOEFL score of at least 515 points (PBT) , 185 points (CBT) , or 70 points (iBT) .

Academic Admission
(1) Admission to the Master’s programme “Battery Technologies” is granted to applicants who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in a) Electrical Engineering, b) Mechatronics, or c) Industrial Engineering – Electrical Engineering with a minimum grade of 2.99 (German grading scale). (2) Admission is also possible for applicants who have completed a first professionally qualifying degree in a closely related field with a minimum grade of 2.99 . Closely related programmes are those comprising at least 120 credit points (CP) in fundamental core competencies in mathematics, physics, control engineering, electronics, computer science, digital technology, project management, materials science, low-level programming (e.g., in microcontroller technology, software development for engineering applications I, cyber-physical systems, automation technology, computer-aided tools , or similar areas). (3) If the previous degree comprises fewer than 210 CP but at least 180 CP , the missing competencies must be acquired subsequently. As a rule, a total of 300 CP should be achieved. The required competencies and the latest possible date for their completion will be communicated in writing to the students by the Examination Board after enrolment at the beginning of the programme. In all other respects, § 7 paragraph 7 no. 9 PVO applies. (4) Applicants holding a Bachelor’s degree obtained outside the Bologna area (i.e., outside the European Higher Education Area) must additionally provide the following qualification proof: GRE test result with a minimum percentile of 64% in the Quantitative Reasoning section.
